TRYOUTS TONIGHT
Tryouts for all new swimmers will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the instructional pool at Lakeside. You must pre-register for your own 10-minute time slot here: LQG Summer 2026 Tryout Registration

It is EXTREMELY important for the safety of our swimmers that you read and understand the following information:

Tryouts are only required for NEW swimmers to the team! The tryout will consist of the swimmer completing the following requirements:

- 1 length of the pool (25 yards) swimming freestyle

- 1 length of the pool (25 yards) swimming backstroke

The tryout ensures that each swimmer can participate safely with the team and assesses the swimmer for placement in the appropriate training group.

PLEASE NOTE: 25 yards is approximately the distance between the front pier and the float. If your child cannot swim this distance independently, do not attend tryouts or seek private instruction before attending for an appropriate assessment.

We strongly encourage every family to practice accomplishing the tryout standards prior to attending tryouts.

PARENT MEETINGS THIS WEEK
We have MANDATORY parent meetings this week as follows:

• Tuesday, May 26 – new parent meeting – 7:15 – 8:15 p.m. – HDE Activities Room
• (RESCHEDULED!!!) Friday, May 29 – returning parent meeting – 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. – HDE Activities Room

If you are a returning parent and cannot attend Friday's meeting, please aim to attend tonight and vice versa. If you cannot attend either meeting, please read the Team Handbook very carefully and pay close attention to upcoming emails.

PRACTICE STARTS TOMORROW
Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27, is the first day of practice. Every swimmer is registered for the practice time their parent selected at registration. If you aren't sure what that was, feel free to email us to find out.

PRACTICE TIME CHANGES/FLEXIBILITY
We are looking for families registered in the 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. practice groups to volunteer to move to the 1:30 or 2:30 p.m. groups, if possible. We are also interested in asking any families who can do this for a few days, a week, etc., based on their schedule, to please do so. Both the 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. practice groups are very full, and we would like the opportunity to make use of our coaches' time and best serve our swimmers where possible.

CORRECTED DATES
Earlier information had the qualification meet dates and respective practices for non-meet participants listed incorrectly. That has now been corrected to accurately show the following:

Qualification Meets - Monday, July 6: 11+ Qualifications @ Lake Forest - Wednesday, July 8: 10U Qualifications @ Springhurst

Qualification Meet Day Schedule
- Monday, July 6 - Practice will be held at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. only for ages 10U, and anyone not participating in the qualification meets.
- Wednesday, July 8 - Practice will be held at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. only for ages 11+ and anyone not participating in the qualification meets.
