Lakeside Quarry Gators -- Mock Meet TOMORROW!
I trust you are all enjoying your summer breaks, and I'm so grateful for the feedback you sent about our first few days of practice. Read this email for important info about tomorrow's mock meets, info from select parent committee members, and explicit instructions to RSVP for swim meets.
MOCK MEETS -- TOMORROW!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, we will have two separate Mock Meets to help our swimmers and their parents learn the ropes of a swim meet. Swimmers will gather on the basketball court to stretch and be counted for attendance, warm up in the pool, and return to the basketball court, and be taken back to the pool for swimming events by age group parents-- all like a real, live swim meet! Every swimmer will walk away with a time and a ribbon for a 25 or 50-yard freestyle and every swimmer will participate in at least one relay. We may have time for backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly events depending on the size of each meet.
The first mock meet is from 2:30-4:00 p.m., and the second mock meet is from 4:30-6:00 p.m.
MOCK MEET RSVP DEADLINE EXTENDED

PARENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The following message is from Katie Rubin and Barbie Deem, your QG Parent Committee Parent Volunteer Coordinators:
Welcome QG parents!
I hope everyone is settling in to their new summer routine.
Tomorrow we have our first mock meet which is designed for both the kids and the parents to get comfortable with how the swim meets are structured. Our goal is for swim meets to be largely run by parent volunteers so that our coaches can focus on the actual swimming and coaches aspects. That means we need everyone to be involved when they can!
If you log into swimtopia you’ll see under meet sign up, there is a job sign up button as well. Please click on it and sign up for a job for our mock meet tomorrow! You can also go ahead and sign up for jobs for the whole season now if you want, or you can try out a job tomorrow and if you hate it, we can find something that better suits your talents!
Feel free to email me or text me if you have any questions or concerns related to volunteering or jobs or meets or just about anything I guess.

WHAT'S NEXT & QUESTIONS/TROUBLESHOOTING
Tomorrow morning, you'll receive a heat sheet for each mock meet, and you'll probably hear from us asking for parent volunteers one more time. If you have any questions or if you are experiencing any issues with Swimtopia, please don't hesitate to reach out!
